Introduction to the Buckner Build Project
A Home Building Missions Experience
We're excited to announce that FBC Garland is participating in a Buckner International Remote Build called "House of Hope" to build a home for a family in the Rio Grande Valley. The project kicks off with our Student Ministry DNow weekend on Saturday, January 18.
For several years, teams from our church have worked on site in the Rio Grande Valley. This year we will have the privilege of beginning the building process HERE on our own church property! We'd love for you to sign up and serve on Saturdays in January, February, and March to contribute to the building of the home. Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert Level slots are available at the sign-up link.
Once the build has been completed, a team of our high school students will travel to the Rio Grande Valley on March 15 to build the home for the family on its permanent site.

Join a Team
Build Teams (approximately 20-25 people)
Volunteer on a Saturday morning throughout the 7-week process of the build. There is ample opportunity for people of all ages and skill levels to contribute to this project. Simply choose beginner, intermediate, or expert when signing up.
We encourage Sunday School groups, ministry groups, and individuals to sign up and serve on the build site on an available Saturday morning. During each build day, portions of the home will be constructed on the FBCG campus. Water and snacks are provided during each shift and a picnic lunch will be served at the end of each build day.
Hospitality Team (approximately 6-8 people)
The Hospitality Team will supply the Build Team with water and snacks at the build site throughout their shift. They will also make preparations for and provide a picnic lunch at the end of the work shift.
Prayer Team (Any size group)
Members of the Prayer Team will pray remotely beginning January 12 and cover our build teams during the span of the project. There will be no in-person meetings, but the team will receive email updates as the build progresses. The Prayer Team will pray for the safety of the Build Team during construction, for the family who will be receiving the home, for the people who drive by the build site throughout the week, for the Gospel to be clearly displayed through the readiness of God’s people to serve.

March 8: Family Day- All teams celebrate, pray over the home, eat lunch, and sign studs and frames with scripture and encouragement
March 15: High School Spring Break Mission Trip departs for Rio Grande Valley to build the home onsite for the family.
