Congratulations.  You've just made the first step toward a better life!

Why Do I Need My GED?
Getting your GED is the first step to a better life. Did you know that a person can increase his/her salary significantly just by completing their high school degree through GED? We want to make that possible for you!

GED Literature
We use Kaplan GED Test Prep Plus 2024-25 Strategies, Practice and Review, for our instruction and testing literature. It is also available from: New Readers Press, Amazon.com and The First Baptist Church Garland GED program for $20 (cash).

Free GED Classes
We offer specific courses in Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Classes are instructor-led, faith-based, hands-on-learning. All classes are taught in English only.

Classes are open to the public and are held each Wednesday night during the school year from 6:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. for 5*- or 16-week sessions. (*For the Fast-track accelerated program, class attendance and homework preparation are mandatory.)

Class Location
Enter the Lobby from Ninth Street for registration and attendance. The sign over the door says, "Offices/Chapel/Parlor."  Parking is available at 425 S. Ninth St. and at the SE corner of Avenue D & Ninth St.

Free Childcare
Childcare for children ages birth-10 years is offered free of charge for GED students. You must register your child at the time you register for GED. Space is limited, so your child may be put on a waiting list. You'll love our well-trained and certified staff of teachers. Children over 10 years of age are welcome to attend our Student Ministry program.

Jesus increased in Wisdom and in Stature and in favor with God and man.  LUKE 2:52
