We are excited to announce we have started a new ministry at FBC Garland for widowed women called Hope Gathering. Our December meeting will be off campus. Please email [email protected] for location information and other details. The January meeting will be back in room 283 in the MAC.

Hope Gathering helps widows find hope and healing in Christ-centered communities. Our monthly meetings are to encourage one another on this journey. Each monthly meeting will usually be on the third Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. - noon in Room 283 in the MAC at FBC Garland. These three points define our purpose:

  • We are Christ Centered - We believe that hope and healing are found in Christ alone. (Hebrews 10:23)
  • We are Community Driven - No widow should have to travel this journey alone.  Hope Gathering Communities offer safe, compassionate spaces to build deep relationships where widows feel seen, heard, supported and encouraged. (Hebrews 10:25)
  • Purpose Filled - We are passionate about helping widows embrace the truth that God still has a purpose for their lives and to instill in them the courage to live it out. (Hebrews 10:24)

Hope Gathering’s foundational verse is Hebrews 10:23-25

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (ESV)
