Back to Safe Sleep
This term refers to the caregivers requirement of placing the infant on their backs ONLY during the ages of 0-12 months. Once the child is able to roll over independently, that child is free to position themselves on their back, side or stomach to their comfort level. We place a label on every crib with the child's name and photo along with notification that child can or cannot roll over. The teachers check on the students regularly as they are sleeping in their cribs to ensure that each child is positioned safely and comfortably.
We are not allowed to place any blankets, bibs, stuffed animals or WubbaNub pacifiers with their attached stuffed animals in the cribs with the infants. The infants can take a pacifier without an attachment and the use of a sleep sack is permissable in our cribs for infants under the age of 12 months. For any child that is 6 months and older, we are allowed to feed them their bottle in the crib (if the child can developmentally hold the bottle without help from an adult caregiver).
Bottles/Bottle warming
Parents are allowed to bring your bottles pre-made or you can provide us with the formula, infant water and bottles to put together at the child's required feeding time. If you are bringing breast milk, we ask that you bring these already pre-made. We will feed each child according to their individual feeding schedule provided by you the parent. If your child is not "wake to feed" meaning we are not required to wake them from their nap if it is their time to be fed, we will not allow that child to go over a four hour period without eating. If this happens, we will wake the child and feed them at that time. We have a refrigerator in the classroom to house any pre-made bottles and only use a bottle warmer when it comes time to warm them.
Cleanliness & Sanitation
*Toys are rotated out throughout the day. Any soiled/dirty toys are placed in a separate bin for cleaning and new toys are placed out for the infant children to play with.
*All surfaces such as cribs, diaper changing station, play mat, swings, bouncers, etc are sanitized daily
*Laundry is done once a day where crib sheets, boppy covers and soft toys are washed and dried.

Infant Curriculum Overview
Parents,
We strive everyday to create a loving and kind atmosphere for our babies! Majority of the time we are handling their basic care needs as far as feeding, changing diapers and rocking our little friends to sleep. Every chance and opportunity that we get, we are engaging with the children in reading stories, singing songs and doing craft activities! Please click on the link below to see an overview of our official curriculum and how we use certain themes to incorporate fun, learning and play for our little ones in the classroom!
